On Meta, ads can't imply you know the viewer's health ("Embarrassed by your crooked teeth?") or attack their appearance or hygiene. Cosmetic procedures must be targeted at 18+; dental products such as whitening kits are exempt, so run veneer and other cosmetic treatment ads to adults.
Google lists health as a sensitive interest category that includes surgical procedures and injections. Ads in it can't use Customer Match, website-visitor segments or lookalikes, so an implant campaign runs on keywords, location and Google's own audiences. Google also restricts prescription-drug terms in ads, keywords and landing pages.
Professional codes go further. The UK's GDC lets only dentists on a specialist list call themselves specialists, and says social media offers must state that treatment may not suit everyone and depends on an assessment. On 14 October 2026, India's National Dental Commission warned dentists against patient testimonials, before-and-after photos and filming procedures.
